Since mid-November, ice skating enthusiasts from Nysa and the surrounding area have been able to enjoy a modern, covered facility in a brand new location at the Frajda Municipal Swimming Pool. The new location guarantees weather independence and a range of additional amenities.

Comfort and facilities

In addition to the ice rink’s roof, which helps mitigate the whimsy weather, the new location of the facility also provides greater comfort for parents and guardians. They can observe the players and fans from behind the rink’s railings, something that was previously impossible.

Additionally, the extensive facilities offer comfortable, warm seating, perfect for waiting after a session on the rink, regardless of the outside temperature. A heated food court is also available, serving hot drinks, nutritious lunches, snacks, and pizza fresh from the oven.

Ice skates and helmet rental

An extensive rental shop is also available on-site, offering ice skates and safety helmets, which Bioagra has replenished in previous years. Those with their own equipment can take advantage of professional skate sharpening services.

As always, numerous themed events and attractions are planned throughout the season to diversify the facility’s winter offerings.

Bioagra – another year at the ice rink

Bioagra’s continued role as the official sponsor of the ice rink is part of the ongoing support for the local community. The company is focused on promoting health, recreation, and sustainable development. The company’s commitment, implemented in collaboration with the Nysa Development Agency, includes financial support and, in some cases, even engineering expertise.

In previous years, Bioagra has helped develop a concept for reducing energy consumption in cooling the ice rink, thus combining winter fun with environmental responsibility.

The inquiry is related to the project entitled “Construction of a RFNBO hydrogen production installation along with accompanying infrastructure, including the construction of an installation generating electricity from renewable sources” co-financed by the National Reconstruction Program, investment B2.1.1. “Investments in hydrogen technologies, production, storage and transport of hydrogen in the form of non-repayable support.” The entity supporting the investment is the National Economy Bank  (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego / BGK), and the institution responsible for the implementation of the Program is the Minister of Climate and Environment.

The Contracting Authority reserves the right to award the Contractor additional contracts, not covered by the subject of the main contract, in an amount not exceeding 50% of the value of the subject of the main contract, necessary for its proper execution and resulting from, among other things: 

1. technical or economic reasons, separating the additional contract from the subject of the main contract requiring disproportionately high costs; 
2. the execution of the subject of the main contract is dependent on the execution of the additional contract.

Financing

The project is co-financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, under program B2.1.1. “Investments in hydrogen technologies, production, storage, and transport of hydrogen in the form of non-repayable support.” The investment supporter is the National Economy Bank (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego / BGK), and the institution responsible for implementing the program is the Minister of Climate and Environment. The project aligns with the objectives of the European Industrial Strategy, the Recovery Plan for Europe, and the Green Deal.

This year’s Summer of Flowers was full of flower exhibitions, concerts by famous stars, a handicraft fair and countless places where guests could eat and quench their thirst.

Flowers were the focal point of the festival throughout the weekend. Inside Otmuchów Castle and on the city streets, visitors could admire exquisite compositions and artistic installations created by leading Polish florists and gardeners.

[See image gallery at bioagra.pl] As usual, the Otmuchów Flower Exhibition, presenting the most beautiful specimens of cut and potted plants, enjoyed great interest.

This year’s artistic program captivated audiences with numerous concerts. The main stage featured performances by Liber, Bryska, Enjoy, and Powerplay, among others. The event concluded with a concert by Maryla Rodowicz, the undisputed queen of Polish popular music.

The event was supported by numerous companies and institutions, including Bioagra. Mr. Corn, who could be found on stage and among the floral arrangements, captured the attention of the audience, especially the youngest.

The flood that hit the region in September 2024 caused massive damage to infrastructure and wildlife. Many residents and anglers watched with sadness as the water washed dead fish ashore. The natural disaster depleted the fish population in Lake Nysa, leaving it vulnerable to imbalance.

As part of the June campaign, approximately 4 000 young eels, each weighing around 12 grams, were released into the lake. All of them originate from the depths of the Sargasso Sea.

– The company has been supporting the restocking of Lake Nysa for over a decade – says Mirosław Obarski of Bioagra – This cyclical process allows for the creation of a fully functional aquatic ecosystem. This is especially important when nature needs help recovering from last year’s flood.

[See image gallery at bioagra.pl] Regularly stocking the lake with selected species, such as zander, pike, eel, carp, and tench, is an investment in the health of the entire reservoir. Fish act as a natural filter, purifying the water, while predators regulate the population of other species, restoring biological balance.

– Artificially grown individuals have been brought to Lake Nysa, caught from the Atlantic Ocean – says Jakub Roszuk, ichthyologist and director of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) in Opole. – They drift there after being born in the depths of the Sargasso Sea.

As part of their year-and-a-half-long reproductive migration, eels migrate from inland waters to the Sargasso Sea on the other side of the Atlantic. They spawn at depths of up to 1 000 meters. The adults die, leaving behind eel larvae, which can drift for up to two years towards Europe.

The June stocking program is helping wildlife struggle to regain its balance. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Polish Angling Association (PZW) and the involvement of partners like Bioagra, the chances of fully restoring Lake Nysa’s disturbed ecosystem are increasing.

In response to the flood crisis, the Polish Angling Association in Opole has undertaken extensive remedial measures. In addition to stocking, efforts have also begun to restore natural water corridors where fish can breed and overwinter. These efforts also include monitoring the quality of habitats and food in tributaries of the Nysa Kłodzka River.
