This year, Mr. Corn warmed up the participants of such events as the Nyski Run and Otmuchowski Independence Run and entertained the little ones during harvest festival and Children’s Day events. This time, Bioagra used its company mascot – literally – on a large scale. At nearly 10 floors high, Mr. Corn towers over the area at night in the form of illuminations on the wall of a grain elevator.

The elevator, which was created in the 1970s, is one of the tallest buildings in the region. The structure itself measures 33 meters in height, while the tower located in the central part is 10 meters higher. The creation of an elevator contributed to the development of agriculture in this part of the Opole region. The facility was modernized during the construction of the “Goświnowice” Ethanol Plant.

Bioagra is currently running another facility modernization program. In November this year it silenced the grain elevator tower windows, as well as fans placed on top of it. Specially designed sound suppressors were mounted on them. Before that, the company replaced a new part of production equipment, and also modernized the infrastructure for unloading corn. Work has also begun on extending the grain elevator line, which will create a natural barrier to the sound generated at the plant.

Bioagra implements the plan announced at the beginning of 2018 to minimize the company’s impact on the environment. In the near future the company will already allocate over PLN 8 million for this purpose. The investment in new technologies and solutions will serve to reduce the intensity of smell and sound generated in the production of ethanol.

So far, based on research and recommendations of experts, Bioagra silenced the grain elevator tower windows in November this year, as well as fans placed on top of it. Specially designed sound suppressors were mounted on them. Before that, the company replaced a new part of production equipment, and also modernized the infrastructure for unloading corn, which reaches the company by rail. Bioagra has also planted approx. a thousand trees around the company.

Currently, the company is modernizing the corn grain cleaning line to move the loading of the so-called chaff into the plant and thus reduce noise spreading towards nearby Goświnowice. Work has also begun on extending the grain elevator line, which will create a natural barrier to the sound produced at the plant.

Bioagra also commissioned the production of devices which task will be to reduce the smell generated in the production of ethanol. To this end, the company has signed contracts with two specialized Polish companies. The devices are to be closely matched to the specifics of the production process and technology used by Bioagra, based on the license of the American company Katzen International. Design and construction works are underway.

The three races, during which the weather was extremely “sailing”, were particularly exciting. Wind power reached 5 degrees on the Boufort scale. There were spectacular dump trucks and the competition required maximum effort from both competitors and equipment.

Whilst choosing the winners and distinguishing companies, the jury of the competition was judging the main state and stability of employment in enterprises, the amount of average employee remuneration, innovation and charity.

The prestigious awards and statuettes of “Nysa Sisyphus” were presented during the 9th Business Gala of the Nysa Poviat. Over 50 companies competed in the 2017 Employer of the Year competition. All entrepreneurs operating in the Nysa county could participate in the competition regardless of the size or type of business.

The competition jury selected the winners of this year’s edition of the competition in four categories:

• MICRO-ENTERPRISE
• SMALL ENTERPRISE
• MEDIUM AND LARGE ENTERPRISE
• YOUNG BUSINESS

During the gala there was also a discussion panel entitled “Business, Education and the Labor Market”, the subject of which was the broadly understood labor market and the challenges faced by employees and employers.

The idea of the Employer of the Year competition of Nysa County is to promote local Employers who are creating new jobs, outstanding in terms of the quality of work conditions provided, representing an above-average and imitative business model.
