Polski Związek Wędkarski w Opolu, ze wsparciem Bioagry, przeprowadził kolejne zarybianie Jeziora Nyskiego. Tym razem do akwenu wpuszczono 50 kg młodych węgorzy.

The Polish Fishing Association in Opole, with the support of Bioagra, carried out another restocking of Lake Nysa. This time, 50 kg of young eels were released into the reservoir. Each individual, weighing about 12 grams, was born in the depths of the Sargasso Sea, on the other side of the globe.

As in previous seasons, several hundred thousand young fish of various species will be brought to Lake Nysa this year. The current campaign is part of the activity that Bioagra has been supporting since 2009, cooperating with the Polish Fishing Association in Opole. For this purpose, the company donates PLN 14k each year

– The company has been supporting the process of stocking Lake Nysa for over a dozen years – says Mirosław Obarski from Bioagra. – Stocking allows you to create a fully-fledged aquatic ecosystem.

[See image gallery at _] Young eels, zanders, pike, carp, crucian carp and tench end up in Lake Nysa. Fish act as a natural filter in water reservoirs. They cleanse water bodies from excess vegetation and phytoplankton. Predatory fish regulate the population of the so-called peaceful feeding fish, e.g. bream, crucian carp, roach.

– In May, the so-called restocking eel entered Lake Nysa – says Jakub Roszuk, ichthyologist, director of the Polish Fishing Association (PZW) office in Opole. – These are individuals grown in artificial conditions, caught from the Atlantic Ocean, where they drift after birth in the depths of the Sargasso Sea.

The eel is one of the most fascinating and mysterious fish living in Polish water bodies. It usually lives in water, but during migrations it can even crawl on land at a speed of about 3 km/h. It can breathe through its skin and can therefore survive out of water for up to two days.

Eels undertake a one and a half year breeding journey. During this time, they migrate from inland waters to the Sargasso Sea on the other side of the Atlantic. They spawn there at a depth of up to 1 000 meters. Adults die, leaving behind eel larvae that can drift towards Europe for up to two years.

The European eel has been considered an endangered species. Since 2007, it has been protected under the Washington Convention (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).

Eel in Poland

Protective size in PZW waters: up to 60 cm

Protection period: from 1st December to 31st March

Daily catch limit: 2 pcs.

The largest eel caught in Poland: 6.43 kg / 144 cm.

The post From the Sargasso Sea to Lake Nysa first appeared on Bioagra SA.

“Goświnowice” Ethanol Production Plant has launched a new investment, which results in a 50% reduction in water vapor emissions from the feed material drying installation. This will reduce the intensity of the smell, as well as the consumption of water and energy needed for production.

Bioagra points out that the investment will help the company keep up with the competition from foreign concerns and remain a leader in the region in the implementation of the postulates of a zero-emission economy. Thanks to the energy recovered from steam, the plant will reduce the consumption of natural gas by 10 percent. Reducing the use of this fossil fuel is a step towards making industrial activities independent of gas as an energy source, as well as reducing CO2 emissions.

– From now on, the plant uses a large part of the energy in the production process, which previously escaped into the atmosphere with steam – Mirosław Obarski explained.

The implementation depends, among others, on the “return” of energy from the end of the technological process to one of the initial stages of production. The energy taken away from hot water vapor – which is formed during the drying of the so-called feed material – will be used, among others, for heating the mash. At the same time, the company’s engineers will reduce the temperature of this process using the so-called low temperature cooking technology.

The development of the solution and preparation for implementation took over two years, and its implementation will take almost half a year in total. For it to work, distant production stages must be connected with a network of technological pipelines. This requires numerous pumps, heat exchangers, expansion tanks and heaters.

Bioagra constantly invests in solutions that reduce its impact on the natural environment and the surrounding area. The company has so far spent tens of millions of zlotys to reduce the smell and sound intensity. A number of improvements and modifications contributed to the reduction of the sound intensity generated by the production installation. The company has also launched a system for reducing the odor generated in the fermentation process, which has been in operation for several years.

The post Bioagra has launched an improved technological process first appeared on Bioagra SA.

The new investment carried out by Bioagra in the Ethanol Production Plant “Goświnowice” includes a number of technological processes related to the production of ethanol and feed materials. The effect of these actions will be a 50% reduction in water vapor emissions from the feed material drying installation. This will reduce the intensity of the smell, as well as the consumption of water and energy needed for production.

For several years, the company has been implementing various solutions aimed at further reducing the plant’s impact on the natural environment and the company’s surroundings. However, the latest investment is one of the largest projects of this type in the history of the company. A number of improvements include many elements of the production installation and will be carried out together with the American company KATZEN, which is a supplier of innovative technological solutions for ethanol production plants.

Bioagra points out that the investment will measurably reduce the plant’s demand for energy, water and gas. This will help the company keep up with competition from foreign companies and remain a leader in the region in the implementation of the postulates of a zero-emission economy. Thanks to the energy recovered from steam, the plant will reduce the consumption of natural gas by 10 percent. Reducing the use of this fossil fuel is a step towards making industrial activities independent of gas as an energy source, as well as reducing CO2 emissions.

– The investment will bring many different benefits – says Mirosław Obarski from Bioagra – The most visible will be the halving of water vapor emissions, which is considered one of the so-called greenhouse gasses. However, the level of odor from the technological process will also be reduced. In the production process, the plant will use energy that has previously escaped with steam into the atmosphere – explains Mirosław Obarski.

The implementation is based, among others, on the “return” of energy from the end of the technological process to one of the initial stages of production. The energy taken away from hot water vapor, which is formed during the drying of the so-called feed material, will be used, among others, for heating the mash. At the same time, the company’s engineers will reduce the temperature of this process using the so-called low temperature cooking. To obtain energy from hot steam, it must be condensed. The water recovered in this way will be used in the plant for the mash preparation process.

The development of the solution and preparation for implementation took over two years. Its implementation will take almost half a year in total. For it to work, distant production stages must be connected with a network of technological pipelines. This requires numerous pumps, heat exchangers, expansion tanks and heaters.

The investment requires high precision and technical advancement at many stages of implementation. The devices weighing many tons are installed between the elements of the existing infrastructure. Therefore, there is, for example, the need to install devices from the top, which requires the disassembly of part of the roofing.

Bioagra constantly invests in solutions that reduce the impact on the natural environment and the surrounding area. The company has so far spent tens of millions of zlotys (PLN) to reduce the smell and sound intensity. A number of improvements and modifications contributed to the reduction of the sound intensity generated by the production installation.

Two tons of feed materials and prepaid cards with Mr. Corn were funded by Bioagra SA for the winners of the 17th National Competition “Safe Farm” and the 8th edition of the art competition for children, entitled “The machine works but the child watches.” Both contests are regularly organized by the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS).

Both competitions have an important social aspect – their goal is to promote farm security, including child safety.

“Safe Farm” is one of many preventive actions of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) in the improvement of occupational health and safety on farms. The competition was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as well as the National Labor Inspectorate and the National Center for Agricultural Support, the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture. The honorary patronage was taken by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. Art competition for children “The machine works but the child observes”, whose patron was Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, is organized to promote positive behavior related to the work and play of children on the farm among schoolchildren from primary schools in rural areas.

The competition also popularizes the “List of particularly dangerous activities related to running a farm”, which must not be entrusted to children under 16 years of age. This year’s competition slogan: “Safe in the countryside: the machine works but the child watches” is to draw attention to the ways of preventing accidents related to the presence of agricultural machinery and equipment on farms. The young authors of the winning entries received payment cards with Mr. Corn, each worth PLN 100.

When assessing farms in the ‘Safe Farm’ competition, the jury took into account the organization of the farm bypass and yard, order within the yard, buildings and work stations, technical condition of livestock and farm buildings, technical condition of machines, devices and tools used on the farm, conditions of handling and living of farm animals, equipping with work clothes and personal protective equipment, storage of plant protection products and other hazardous substances. The jury also took into account the aesthetics of farms, applied organizational, technological and technical solutions affecting the safety of people working and staying on a farm.

The safest farm in the Nysa poviat was the farm of Dorota and Waldemar Rusek from Otmuchów. The farm of Rose and Robert Przywar from Prusinowice, Pakosławice commune was also awarded. Each of them received a ton of feed materials.

The Management Board of BIOAGRA SA has committed to reduce the noise and smell arising during the production of bioethanol and feed at the “Goświnowice” Ethanol Plant, because such demands were submitted by the local community. The company takes action despite the fact that the production process is in accordance with all applicable standards set out in EU and national regulations.

In 2018 BIOAGRA SA, among others, will employ experts who will analyze the noise and smell arising in the production process and develop the concept of their effective reduction. The company also committed to keep the residents and local authorities of Goświnowice, Głębinów, Skorochów, Jędrzychów and Nysa, as well as company and media employees informed about the progress of their activities. Among others, quarterly meetings with representatives of village councils will be conducted. The first meeting takes place in March this year.

The commitment is unique – the plant run by BIOAGRA SA complies with all applicable standards set out by EU and Polish regulators. The company also meets all the recommendations of the “Code for the prevention of odor nuisance”, which were developed by the Department of Air and Climate Protection of the Ministry of the Environment. Despite this, the company committed to reduce noise and odor, as such demands were made by the local community.

In connection with the planned modernization and expansion of the Plant, the company’s representatives met with the village mayors of the surrounding villages, members of the village councils and residents as part of public consultations. During these meetings BIOAGRA SA explained in detail what its investment intentions are. A number of study visits were also carried out during which the inhabitants of the surrounding towns could visit the “Goświnowice” Ethanol Plant and learn about all elements of the production process, including the rules of receiving and testing grain, ethanol and feed production as well as storage and logistics of finished products. Visitors to the Plant could also learn how the company’s laboratory and control room works, from which the production process and the entire Plant are supervised and managed.

The post Commitment of the Board of BIOAGRA SA first appeared on Bioagra SA.
