The qualifying rounds for the Nysa Beach Volleyball Championship are underway

The competition in the Nysa Beach Volleyball Championships series that was held last weekend, was a test of sports skills and endurance. The championships are played in the Brazilian system, which provides much greater excitement than the cup system popular in Europe.

The players competing in the Nysa Beach Volleyball Championships had to mobilize additional resources of endurance this weekend. The weather was beautiful, but on the pitch it meant something completely different than on the neighboring beach.

The air temperature reached almost 40 degrees Celsius, which caused the sand to heat up to about 60 degrees. This forced the organizers to regularly water the pitch to ensure the players had the right conditions for playing.

In the Brazilian system, unlike the knockout system, a team is eliminated from the tournament only after its second defeat. This approach increases the number of matches to be played, but guarantees much greater excitement. Even teams that have lost in the early stages can still fight for high places. In extreme cases, like this weekend, a team can revive during the competition and reach for the top spot.

The next eliminations, the last this year, will take place in a week. The final, in which the best teams from the entire competition cycle will play, takes place on August 3rd and 4th.
