Bioagra recognized for helping to combat the effects of flooding

Bioagra was among those honored during the gala “Because helping is strength,” which took place at the Wanda Pawlik Nysa Cultural Center. The Nysa County government presented the company with a symbolic statuette, appreciating its commitment and real support for the local community during and after the September flood that affected the region.

The ceremony was the culmination of the Nysa County Day celebrations and was an expression of appreciation for the people, organizations and institutions whose actions proved invaluable in the fight against the effects of the natural disaster. Bioagra’s recognition is a confirmation of its important role in this joint effort.

The company’s commitment was evident from the very beginning of the crisis. In response to the immediate threat to the region, Bioagra immediately supported flood relief efforts by providing 1,000 specialized big bags. These enabled the rapid reinforcement of a weakened embankment on the Nysa River using helicopters. When the embankment elsewhere was threatened with collapse, the company delivered overnight shipments of sand and rubble. At the same time, materials for temporary embankment repairs were delivered, and specialized pumps and a mobile water tanker were provided to remove water from flooded buildings.

Bioagra’s assistance also extended to key urban infrastructure. Bioagra provided Nyska Energetyka Cieplna company with 1 000 liters of specialized ethanol (isopropanol), which enabled NEC employees to rescue flooded electronics in over a hundred hot water and heating stations. This action significantly accelerated the process of restoring heating and hot water to the residents of Nysa in the beginning of the heating season.

Aid for the education sector was also a significant element of the support. Bioagra donated a total of PLN 100 000 to the three most affected primary schools in Nysa – No. 1, No. 5, and No. 10. The funds were allocated to rebuilding and equipping damaged rooms, including kitchens, locker rooms, technical labs, and computer rooms. The company also provided educational institutions with surface and hand disinfectants, which allowed for safer work during the cleanup of flooded rooms.

– Our company has strong ties to the region – says Mirosław Obarski of Bioagra. – We see this distinction as recognition of our sense of responsibility for the local community, of which the company is an integral part.
