The final of the Nysa Championships in men’s and women’s beach volleyball

The final duels for the Nysa 2023 Beach Volleyball Championship took place over the weekend. The event, which was supported by Bioagra, was attended by over 160 players from all over Poland.

As before, the Nysa Championships were played on the pitches on a unique beach on Lake Nyskie. The fans could enjoy the matches and the wonderful view of the wide body of water with mountain peaks in the background.

For the first time the competition, lasting a total of 10 days, was held in the women’s and men’s categories. Over 100 male and 60 female players took part in the championships. An impressive number of 320 matches were played throughout this year’s series of qualifying tournaments and finals.

Players playing in indoor games of Plus Liga (men) and Tauron Liga (women) were among the starters. Interestingly, this type of volleyball is as effective and fast as indoor volleyball, but it can be much more exciting. In this discipline, players representing lower leagues or even playing only to maintain physical condition have a chance to win duels with professionals.

– Beach volleyball is extremely exciting because every match is a great unknown – says Wojtek Kondracki, organizer of the Nysa Championships on behalf of the Volley Beach Nysa Volleyball Club. – The matches are full of unique drama and unusual twists and spectacular, physics-defying actions. In this discipline, even very reputable players can be defeated by lower ranked players.

Wojtek Kondracki explains this phenomenon by saying that although technical skills and experience in the game are the basis for success, the conditions on the beach even out or sometimes even reverse the odds. Rebounding into a block or impact is hampered by sand, which can be hot and dry like dust or wet and muddy. Matches are played in the open air, regardless of the weather. For example: in last year’s games, at times, the sand on the beach in Nysa reached a temperature of over 70 Celsius degrees.

The organizer of the tournament is the Beach Volley Nysa Volleyball Club. This year’s event was combined with the Grand Prix of the Opole region organized by the Opole Volleyball Association. The Nysa Championships are listed in the central system of the Polish Volleyball Association. This means that the players who took the first 4 places received points in the national ranking of beach volleyball players.

Bioagra has launched an improved technological process

“Goświnowice” Ethanol Production Plant has launched a new investment, which results in a 50% reduction in water vapor emissions from the feed material drying installation. This will reduce the intensity of the smell, as well as the consumption of water and energy needed for production.

Bioagra points out that the investment will help the company keep up with the competition from foreign concerns and remain a leader in the region in the implementation of the postulates of a zero-emission economy. Thanks to the energy recovered from steam, the plant will reduce the consumption of natural gas by 10 percent. Reducing the use of this fossil fuel is a step towards making industrial activities independent of gas as an energy source, as well as reducing CO2 emissions.

– From now on, the plant uses a large part of the energy in the production process, which previously escaped into the atmosphere with steam – Mirosław Obarski explained.

The implementation depends, among others, on the “return” of energy from the end of the technological process to one of the initial stages of production. The energy taken away from hot water vapor – which is formed during the drying of the so-called feed material – will be used, among others, for heating the mash. At the same time, the company’s engineers will reduce the temperature of this process using the so-called low temperature cooking technology.

The development of the solution and preparation for implementation took over two years, and its implementation will take almost half a year in total. For it to work, distant production stages must be connected with a network of technological pipelines. This requires numerous pumps, heat exchangers, expansion tanks and heaters.

Bioagra constantly invests in solutions that reduce its impact on the natural environment and the surrounding area. The company has so far spent tens of millions of zlotys to reduce the smell and sound intensity. A number of improvements and modifications contributed to the reduction of the sound intensity generated by the production installation. The company has also launched a system for reducing the odor generated in the fermentation process, which has been in operation for several years.

10th Nysa Run – two records

The jubilee 10th edition of the Nyski Run was very fast and brought two records: of routes and attendance. 850 participants ran in Nysa for the first time in the history of the event.

This year’s edition of the Nyski Run was one of the fastest. The route record was broken by Monika Jackiewicz (MKL Szczecin, Lubawa), the current Polish marathon champion. The winner covered the 10 km route in 34 minutes and 14 seconds. Eight years ago, in 2015, Sylwia Ejdys-Tomaszewska ran 22 seconds longer. It is worth noting that in the current Nysa Run, the winning woman was eighth in the general classification. Artur Olejarz (MKL Szczecin, Zielona Góra) crossed the first finish line after 31 minutes and 16 seconds. It should be emphasized that this is the third best result in the history of the Nyski Run. Despite the fast pace in the men’s group, the phenomenal result set in 2012 was maintained. At that time, Arkadiusz Gardzielewski covered the route in 29 minutes and 57 seconds. He is still the only winner of the Nyski Run with a time of less than 30 minutes.

– The Nysa Run was reborn after the pandemic – says Jacek Makowski, co-organizer of the run. – The turnout has returned to the level when the event was developing very dynamically. Applications are coming in faster than in previous years. Potential participants are increasingly aware of the popularity of the run – Jacek Makowski concludes.

The 10th edition of the Nyski Run was record-breaking in terms of attendance. This year, over 850 runners took part in the run, which is the largest number in the history of the event. The record of success was basically also broken by the family run, the so-called “Family Mile”. There were so many volunteers that the starting numbers ran out.

The organizers of the event are the Interschool Student Sports Club “GIM 2” from Nysa, the “In Action” Foundation and the “NYSA IS RUNNING” group.

This Saturday (June 10th) the jubilee 10th edition of the Nyski Run, one of the best-rated running events in Poland, will start. It already has a record turnout. Theoretically, up to 1 000 people and Mr. Corn can stand at the starting line.

In the 7th edition of the event, before the pandemic, 828 participants took part. This year, nearly 1,000 participants signed up for the run. This means that the current attendance record may be broken.

The event will be held with the active support of Bioagra. As in previous years, the company has prepared ecological bags for the participants of the run, in which the runners will receive food products from local companies. Motivating cheering will be provided by Mr. Corn – the official mascot of the company.

The jubilee edition of the run, which start and finish line is located at ul. Sudecka (at the height of HALA NYSA), confirms that the event is growing in strength. The starting list includes runners from the following countries: Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Turkey.

Before the main 10 km run, the beloved by the youngest “Family Mile” will be held. This is an additional, free run without age limits, addressed to entire families, during which fun is the ultimate goal. Participants of the “Family Mile” will receive commemorative starting numbers. Those who reach the finish line will also receive commemorative medals. “Family Mile” will start at 6:00 p.m. The time limit for covering the approximately 1.5 kilometer route is 30 minutes.

The main race will start at 7:00 p.m. The route of the run, which has been certified by the Polish Athletics Association, is fast, flat and fully asphalted, without an excessive number of turns.

The organizers of the event are the Interschool Student Sports Club “GIM 2” from Nysa, the “In Action” Foundation and the “NYSA RUNS” group.
