Bioagra supports the restocking of Lake Nyskie

The Polish Angling Association in Opole, with the support of Bioagra, carried out the first restocking of Lake Nyskie this year in the form of 160 kgs of autumn fry zander. This year, as in previous seasons, several hundred thousand young fish will be brought to the reservoir.

This is just a fraction of a larger activity that Bioagra supports since 2009, by cooperating with the Polish Angling Association in Opole in the restocking of Lake Nyskie. For this purpose, the company donated PLN 10k each year and – from this year on – PLN 14k.

The first restocking of Lake Nyskie this year was started with zander fry, which came from last year’s spawning and overwintered well in breeding tanks. It is now ready to be released into the wide waters of Lake Nyskie and will soon be joined by other batches of fry of other species, including more zander along with pike (summer fry), stocking eels, carp, crucian carp and tench.

According to the experts of the Polish Angling Association of the PZW Opole District, even several hundred thousand fish will end up in the reservoir in the form of fry.

– Restocking of Lake Nyskie is conducive to creating conditions in which a fully-fledged aquatic ecosystem is created – says Mirosław Obarski, Bioagra. – The company has been supporting this process for several years.

Fish act in water reservoirs as a natural filter, e.g. by cleaning them of excess vegetation or phytoplankton. Others, like predators such as zander, regulate the population of the so-called fish of peaceful prey, e.g. bream, crucian carp, roach. These species, also known as white fish, accelerate the process of increasing the fertility of waters in excess.

We would like to remind you that in the PZW Opole waters, the protective size of zander is up to 50 cm, and the upper one is 90 cm, the protection period lasts from 1.01 to 31.05. The annual limit for pike and zander is 35 pieces in total.

Bioagra supported the 10th Charity Concert

The aim of the 10th Charity Concert was to support children with cancer.

Thanks to the active involvement of the inhabitants of the region who gathered in the audience, a record amount of almost PLN 30.000 was collected for this purpose. The funds were donated entirely to the construction of a new headquarters of the st. Arnold Janssen hospice in Nysa.

During the concert, the sponsors and patrons of the event were presented. The participants had the opportunity to watch a short video presenting Bioagra’s commitment to supporting the local community.

The 10th Charity Concert took place at the Nysa Cultural Centre. The event was organized by the Region’s Development Association. This year’s concert was a long-awaited event that returned to the musical map of the region after a 3-year break caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Youth Brass Orchestra “Leśnica”, consisting of over 70 members, performed on the stage of the Nysa Community Centre. The talented band led by Klaudiusz Lisoń provided the audience with unforgettable musical experiences. According to the title of the concert, members of the audience could listen to the songs “From Strauss to Bach”, but they were also treated with hits of Polish and foreign popular music. The event was crowned by the absolute classic of New Year’s concerts – the Radetzky March by Johann Strauss.

Bioagra – the official sponsor of Nysa’s ice rink

Bioagra is going to help operate Nysa’s ice rink. The company signed a contract with Nysa’s Development Agency to give the popular facility financial and material support worth PLN 50 000.

Nysa’s Development Agency opened the city rink at Kraszewskiego St. in the challenging time of difficult access to the energy needed to freeze the ice sheet. Bioagra offered help and became the official sponsor of the facility. This guarantees additional finances that will secure its running until the end of winter season.

Total support offered by Bioagra adds up to PLN 50 000 and includes both financial and material help. The company will supply additional, professional ice skates and gear that improves the safety on the road: protective helmets and fluorescent vests. Mr Kukurydza – the company’s mascot – will be present at events organized at the rink.

The ice rink made its comeback on the map of Nysa’s winter attractions on 1st December 2009. It was then reopened after 20 years. The 20×40 m wide rink fits 50 people, including children aged 0-7 years, remaining under the supervision of their adult guardians. The cooling system allows the rink to be used even when the temperature rises to 10 celsius degrees.

City ice rink in Nysa is open for schools from Mon to Fri, 8am – 3pm. Later, from 4pm the facility is opened to everyone. On weekends, the rink is open from 8am to 9pm, with a 1-hour technical break between 3 and 4pm.
