XI Bieg Nyski – rekordy szybkości i frekwencji

The latest edition of the Nysa Run was the fastest ever. Course records were broken in the men’s and women’s categories. Nearly 950 competitors took part in the race for the first time. Like never before, fans could watch the competitors crossing the finish line from the stands of the newly modernized Polonia Nysa stadium, which opened during the race.

During this year’s edition of the Nysa Run, two course records were broken over a distance of 10 km. The competition was won by Rono Kennedy Kipkemoi (29:38) in the men’s category and Jebet Valentine (33:38) in the women’s category, both from Kenya. The first result is unique because it was only the second time in the history of the Nysa Run that a competitor completed the route in less than thirty minutes. The previous record (29:57) belonged to Arkadiusz Gardzielewski and was set in 2012.

– The final of the race at the newly modernized stadium allowed the fans to get excited about the results of the competition – says Jacek Makowski, co-organizer of the race. – This is a completely new quality of support. The fight of the competitors in the final stretch was clearly visible. The Nysa Run gained another distinguishing feature – the final on the stadium’s track – adds Jacek Makowski.

Attendance has definitely returned to the level from when the event was growing dynamically. There were many more people willing to run than there were starting numbers. This year, nearly 950 runners took part in the race, i.e. the most in the history of the event.

The Family Mile was once again very well attended, with nearly 750 small and big, young and older competitors taking part. This is also the most people in the history of this additional race, in which entire families often take part.

The organizers of the event are the Interschool Student Sports Club “GIM 2” from Nysa and the “W Action” Foundation.
